The brief was 3 fold to include Van Restaurant, Attic bar and the VIP rooms – the design brief was to enhance the existing building and the original details. The restaurant had beautiful wood paneling and original tiled floors so we made these a feature by using plush cream colours with minimal patterns on the curtains and elegant velvet fabric for the chairs.
VIP rooms – we wanted these rooms to look like beautiful jewels – using strong colours such as turquoise and silver to give a modern and sophisticated flair. The existing green and yellow room had a more intimate feel so we incorporated rich, luxurious velvet fabric to compliment these colours, as well as to enhance the tiled floor – Pure opulence.
Long since faded from glory – this space started out as a dusty crowded room so we opened up the roof space to allow more light and seating to give a feeling of space which enhanced the views onto the elegant square. We incorporated mirrors, paneling and a 1920’s design style to resemble an old fashioned Mayfair gentlemen’s club with feminine touches.
